Subhan Hasanli is a human rights advocate and Director at the Teftish Initiative, an independent civic platform that promotes access to reliable information, strengthens public accountability, and provides practical support to citizens facing legal and social challenges. Inspired by his father’s legal defense of political prisoners, Subhan works to prevent state control over information. Through his experience as a consultant for Freedom House and the EU4Culture Project, a program focused on renovating cultural heritage, Subhan has coordinated the expansion of over 50 Azerbaijani-language Wikipedia entries on civil society history and reached hundreds of thousands of viewers through alternative social media channels.
