City Practice Associate, Mayors Migration Council

France

Selma Rassoul is a City Practice Associate at the Mayors Migration Council, where she helps cities access financial and technical resources to advance innovative local responses to migration and displacement. She works closely on the Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees, which channels funding and technical support directly to city governments. Believing that policies are most effective when they are designed locally and shaped by those most affected, Selma works at the intersection of migration, participatory governance, and city leadership. Having worked across the UN and NGO sectors with migrants and youth, she brings their perspective to policy and institutional spaces, helping strengthen collaboration between local governments and communities. Previously, she was the Head of Programs & Advocacy at PLACE Network, where she led initiatives that empowered more than 150 emerging leaders and partnered with over 10 cities across France to co-design policies with migrants.
