Gionathan Lo Mascolo is the co-Founder and Deputy Director at Faith in Democracy, a global interfaith organization dedicated to connecting religious and secular civil society through capacity building, digital strategy, and the creation of faith-sensitive advocacy toolkits that foster democratic resilience across borders. By training over 600 faith actors and 80 policymakers across multiple countries, Gionathan has facilitated high-impact interventions such as stabilizing pro-democracy coalitions across Europe and developing innovative digital tools to support civic participation. Drawing on his experiences as a war reporter in Syria and his academic research into extremism, he shares strategies on how religious values serve as a cornerstone for pluralism rather than a tool for division. He also built a transnational network that equips faith leaders to defend democratic institutions against religious nationalism and authoritarian influence. Gionathan works between secular institutions and religious communities, helping translate how religious narratives influence political and geopolitical dynamics.
