Yes, contributions to The Barack Obama Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We are a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3), and our EIN is 46-4950751.

The Obama Foundation’s mission is made possible by the generosity of tens of thousands of supporters from around the world. We believe deeply in transparency and publish an annual update of our contributors at obama.org/contributors (Opens in a new tab) .
This list features donors who have made new contributions or formal commitments of $1,001 or more during the previous calendar year, as well as those who have included the Foundation in their estate plans. Our records are refreshed annually to reflect the ongoing growth of our community.

Yes. We adhere to strict Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) to ensure your payment information is encrypted and your privacy is protected.

Yes. A donation receipt and a thank-you letter will be sent to the email address you provide when making your contribution.

To update or cancel your recurring donation, please send a written request to donate@obama.org. Be sure to include your name, address, the date of your donation, and your contribution method.

While donations are generally non-refundable, we do issue refunds in exceptional circumstances such as administrative error or fraud. In these instances, we can refund up to three months of recurring contributions. If you believe your donation qualifies for a refund or need assistance, please contact donate@obama.org with the details of your gift. Please note that initial gifts are non-refundable.

Membership begins at just $5 a month. This minimum helps us to keep administrative costs low so that more of your gift goes directly toward our mission.

While every gift makes a difference, membership offers an ongoing connection to our work and a global community dedicated to meaningful change. It is a way to amplify your impact, celebrate the progress we make together, and enjoy special benefits along the way.

No, we believe in equal access for our community. All members receive identical benefits, whether you contribute $75 a year, $5 a month, or any monthly amount above that.

Sustaining memberships (monthly or annual) renew automatically so your impact never pauses. One-time gifts provide membership benefits for one full year from the date of your contribution.

While membership does not include free Museum admission, it does guarantee you first access to purchase tickets. We are also proud that the majority of the Obama Presidential Center campus — including public spaces, educational programs and select community events — is free and open to the public.

The Obama Presidential Center is built to welcome everyone, so there are no exclusive onsite areas for Founding Members. Instead, member benefits are designed to bring you closer to the work through special updates, events, and connection opportunities.

From time to time, we love to celebrate the amazing community supporting our mission by sharing the names of our Founding Members. When we do, we typically only share first names and last initials to respect your privacy.
