Assistant Professor of CHamoru Studies, University of Guam

Guam

Nolan Flores is an assistant professor at the University of Guam advancing political awareness and cultural revitalization across Guam. Previously, at the Commission on Decolonization, he organized six youth conferences and developed public education materials that reached over 500 young people, enabling youth to explore the complexities of the island’s history. Powered by a sense of commitment to his ancestors and future generations, Nolan advances CHamoru language, and navigates the challenges of an increasingly militarized landscape. Nolan works to build a sustainable pipeline of advocates equipped to challenge dominant narratives, and pursue self-determination through classroom instruction and public dialogue.
