Landon Opunui is the executive director of Nā Pu'uwai Native Hawaiian Health Care System, an organization that integrates modern medicine and traditional healing to serve rural communities on the Moloka'i and Lāna'i islands. He developed an integrative healthcare model that doubled the number of patients seen while improving clinical trust and access. Within the system, he established a shared leadership structure for 35 employees and reinvested revenue into workforce development and health education. Sparked by the principle of mauli ola (holistic well-being), he is energized to build healthcare systems that honor his Native Hawaiian heritage and transform health services into a culturally grounded force for multigenerational well-being.
