Youngerson Matete is the founder and executive director of AIYP, where he works to cultivate ethical, solutions-driven leadership across Sub-Saharan Africa through mentorship, advocacy, civic education, and innovation. AIYP equips young people to reclaim agency and take on new roles of leadership, and they have trained over 5,000 youth as elections observers and 700 aspiring youth candidates for public office. His work, grounded in Pan-Africanism, focuses on building the systems and civic momentum that help young people move to actively shaping democratic governance.
