Marie-Laurence Archambault is the director of social responsibility and player programs for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). A former basketball player, she draws on her firsthand knowledge of the game to support players as community leaders, advance gender equity, and develop inclusive sports programming and infrastructure across Africa. Since joining the BAL and NBA Africa, she has launched four major social responsibility initiatives comprising more than ten Pan-African programs that have directly impacted more than 10,000 individuals. Through strategic partnerships with leagues, sponsors, and public-sector organizations, Marie-Laurence leverages sport as a catalyst for socioeconomic development. Her dedication to ensuring African youth possess the necessary guidance and institutional support to thrive drives her work, as she views sport not merely as recreation but as a powerful engine for economic opportunity, health equity, and regional inspiration. By leveraging athletics as a catalyst for development, she works to expand infrastructure access and professional pathways for the next generation.
