Simone Price is the director of advocacy and organizing at the Center for Employment Opportunities, a nonprofit organization where she leads advocacy and organizing efforts and empowers formerly incarcerated people to shape policies that impact their communities. She has led multi-state movements and expanded the organization’s mobilizing program into 12 states, training over 500 formerly incarcerated leaders in policy advocacy. These leaders have helped push policy reforms in New York, Colorado, and Michigan, advancing six reform packages. That work enables formerly incarcerated individuals to obtain state identification and access transitional financial assistance.
