Toba Pearlman is an assistant director at the Bureau of Public Utilities at the Illinois Commerce Commission, where she leads efforts to maintain an affordable, reliable electric grid as Illinois transitions to clean energy and reduces its reliance on fossil fuels. She has helped implement Illinois’ clean-energy laws, including the Future Energy Jobs Act, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, and most recently the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, that expand renewable energy, battery storage, and grid modernization. In 2024, she led the Illinois Commerce Commission's efforts that helped secure a $21.8B transmission investment, the largest in Midwest history.
