Sila Avcil is the founder & CEO of Soleil Strategies, where she supports New Mexico’s nonprofits, businesses, and community groups with training on advocacy and coalition building. Previously, Sila was the executive director of NM Voters First, a statewide nonprofit advancing election reforms that expand civic participation and strengthen representation in New Mexico. She led the statewide coalition that passed semi-open primary legislation in 2025, opening primary elections to more than 380,000 independent voters who make up nearly 25% of registered voters in the state. Sila coordinated a coalition of more than 40 organizations representing communities across New Mexico, leading legislative strategy, voter education, and grassroots organizing efforts to expand civic engagement access.
