Stephen is a young active citizen, highly motivated development practitioner, and social entrepreneur, with a passion in empowering people, promoting sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and combating poverty. He works in the design, coordination, and implementation of socio-economic development programmes in Botswana. He started his career as a project officer in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, responsible for implementing the flagship; Poverty Eradication Program, by facilitating the establishment of small enterprises or income generating projects for people from disadvantaged backgrounds to stimulate poverty alleviation, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience. Stephen is a member of the International Development Innovation Network, Junior Chamber International and the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship and Talent for Governance Fellowship, a One Young World Ambassador and in 2017 he was recognized as one of Africa's Top 100 Brightest Young Minds by Barclays-Africa.
