Pedro Lopes
Cape Verde
Pedro Lopes is Secretary of State for Innovation and Technical Training of Cabo Verde. He is recognized for his work in civil society for leading the youth empowerment organization, B-Bright, and the international license to organize the first TEDx of Cabo Verde. He has participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship and served on the Regional Advisory Board of YALI Program in West Africa. His professional accomplishments include Grupo Catarino, Africa Innovation Summit, Wansati Communication, and the United Nations. He is also one of the youngest members of a government on the African continent. In 2017, he and his team won the acclaimed awards “We are Cabo Verde - Best of the year" in the category of Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the project, TEDxPraia. Recently he was named by MIPAD one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent under 40 years old for 2018.
