Democratic Republic of the Congo
In 2007, Lunanga Stewart founded Amani Language Initiative (ALI), a language school in Goma that has trained thousands of locals and international students in English, French, Swahili, and other local languages. ALI has worked with the United Nations, international NGOs, private corporations, journalists, and many more. In the same year, he co-founded CAMME Democratic Republic of Congo (centre d'appui en faveur des mineurs Marginalises), a youth-focused local NGO providing education, entrepreneurial education programs, social services, and recreational opportunities, which today has helped more than 3000 children seize a chance at a brighter future. In 2013, CAMME created Youth Inspirations Academy (YIE), an international English-French bilingual preschool and primary school that today enrolls more than 300 kids. Lunanga serves as the executive director and supervises a team of local staff and international volunteers and interns bringing their talents to YIE.
