Joshua Nassari

Josh has worked for various grassroots non-governmental organizations targeting peasants and youth. Mr. Nassari is currently serving his second term as a Member of Parliament (MP) representing Arumeru East Constituency in the Parliament of Tanzania. During his first term of service as an MP, he was the youngest member in the Parliament and served as a shadow deputy minister for education and vocational training. As an MP, among other duties performed at the National Assembly, he oversees the annual budget of his constituents, including initiating and monitoring the implementation of any development project undertaken by both local and central governments within his area of representation. He holds a BA from the University of Dar es Salaam and a master's degree in international relations and democratic politics from the University of Westminster in London. Josh was a 2014 YALI Fellow and 2016 Chevening Fellow. He plans to continue working on education and health projects.
