Francis Mbewe

A serial start-up founder, Francis works as CEO at Kukula Fund, a social investment firm that invests in high growth social businesses working to improve the living standard of women and girls in remote communities of Zambia. Francis holds a degree in development studies from the Zambia Open University and believes it’s possible to create communities without poverty, if remote communities can be given an opportunity to access investments over charity. To date, Francis manages a fund that has invested in five high growth social businesses focusing on clean energy, low-cost education, financial services, agriculture, and manufacturing. Francis is a proud alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship; Tony Elumelu entrepreneurship Program; Kumvana Fellowship and Young African Leadership Initiative- RLC. A self-confessed ‘people person’, Francis’s endearing personality and jovial laugh never fails to light up people!
