Our Community

The Obama Presidential Center is rooted in the South Side of Chicago, a community that nurtured the values and spirit of President and Mrs. Obama. It is a vibrant mosaic of history and heritage. Following your visit to the Center, you can immerse yourself in other world-class cultural institutions like the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, or Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House. Then continue your visit with stops at a local bookstore or award-winning restaurant and end your day with a scenic stroll along the lakefront at Promontory Point.
