Today marks the official dedication of the Obama Presidential Center. Thank you for joining us for this dynamic celebration of this new hub for hope and change. The program begins at 11 a.m. CT.

The celebration will feature remarks from President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Obama Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett,  and Obama Foundation Board Chair Martin Nesbitt, alongside performances by some of the world’s most celebrated artists.

The ceremony will also include:

  • An invocation led by Pastor Joel Hunter and Joshua DuBois

  • A presentation of colors by the Illinois Army National Color Guard

  • Featured house band The Roots

  • Musical performances by Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Common, Eddie Vedder, Guitars Over Guns, Stevie Wonder, and Uniting Voices Chicago

  • A “One World” global performance celebrating unity, creativity, and hope, featuring Tems, Marc Anthony, U2’s Bono and The Edge

  • A special appearance by actress and producer Marsai Martin

The Obama Presidential Center opens to the public! Come mark this milestone at a free, open-house style event, celebrating community, creativity, and joy. Dance to music on the plaza, create art with your family, and snapshot your place in this historic moment. Because this is a momentous day for the city of Chicago and our global community, we expect that campus will be very active. Please plan accordingly.
