Receive

By Kiki Smith

About

The artwork

Receive features a large moon-like form surrounded by a cluster of stars. The sculpture is the largest work in Smith’s Moon and Stars series and draws on celestial objects that people have looked to for guidance and direction throughout history. In the Hope and Change Lobby of the Museum, the work offers a welcoming place to pause and reflect, while reminding visitors of the connections that link us all.
