Durative

By Lorna Simpson

About

The artwork

Artist Lorna Simpson transforms photographs of glaciers and clouds into a layered, dreamlike landscape in Durative . Rich blues and flowing paint create a sense of movement across the surface, while the icy imagery suggests both beauty and distance. A site-specific piece within the private Presidential Suite, the work creates a connection between an intimate, personal space and the larger world, bringing a sense of openness and reflection to the room.
