Stephen “Steve” Westby is the assistant director of student veteran transition and success at New York University. A U.S. army veteran previously deployed to Iraq, Steve strives to guide fellow veterans and their dependents towards success in educational attainment. Steve is a case manager for more than 1,000 students at NYU and collaborates with external institutions to further his department’s mission, including as co-chair of the Military Connected Standing Committee. As a veteran, Steve brings both lived experience and a keen understanding of the importance of mental and physical support for those who have served and their families.
