Matthew Johnson is a Lieutenant with the University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department. As a native of Baltimore with over 17 years in community policing, Matthew has led transformative community programs, fostered positive police-community relationships, mentored youth, and implemented crisis intervention programs. He also created a community police academy to facilitate direct feedback from community members to the Police Department. He strives to refine the programs he leads to eventually scale them up to achieve national-level impact.
