Josh Coleman is the deputy director of the City of Birmingham’s Division of Social Justice. In his role, Josh serves as the city's first-ever LGBTQ+ liaison, acting as an ambassador and advocate for both the city and the LGBTQ+ community. Appointed in 2018, Josh established the Mayor's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board, which guides the administration in shaping public policy and advancing pro-equality measures for the city. Under his leadership, Birmingham has experienced a 200 percent increase in Pride sponsorship and record-breaking attendance at Pride events, contributing more than $3.6 million to the city's economy. In 2021, Josh became president of Central Alabama Pride, the state’s largest Pride organization.
