Whitney Aragaki is a teacher leader in the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education, a statewide public education system that works to ensure all graduates are globally-competitive and locally committed. The Hawaiʻi public schools system is committed to providing all students access to high-quality learning opportunities that help them discover and pursue their passions. Whitney is a high school science teacher and guides teachers in professional development in place-based education. Whitney was the 2022 Hawaiʻi State Teacher of the Year and is passionate about sustaining the intimate interrelationships of public education, community, and the environment.
