Alejandra Vázquez Baur is a Policy Entrepreneur at Next100, a start-up think tank built for the next generation of policy leaders. Alejandra focuses on federal solutions to expand systemic academic, social, and emotional support for K-12 immigrant newcomers and multilingual learners. In 2022, she co-founded the National Newcomer Network, a coalition of educators, researchers, and advocates from across the country committed to educational equity for newcomer students. Alejandra also volunteers with ImmSchools, facilitating “Know Your Rights in School” sessions for immigrant students and families in New York City. Drawing on her previous experiences as a high school teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and education policy advocate at the New York Immigration Coalition, she works to center immigrant student and community voices in policy. Alejandra is a proud member of a large mixed-status Mexican Family. She holds degrees from Claremont McKenna College and Columbia University.
