Mwansa is a qualified obstetrician/gynecologist, with 10 years post qualification experience as a medical doctor. Ketty is very passionate about alleviating the suffering of Zambian Women and adolescents on matters related to sexual and reproductive health, focusing mainly on cervical cancer prevention. Zambia ranks 4th highest in Africa in both morbidity and mortality, and yet it is very preventable if one has access to vaccines or early detection. Ketty and her team have opened up cervical cancer screening clinics in Kafue district with a grant support and this has improved access to this service for the community. Her work focuses on community engagement, including both men and women as equals. Men are a critical factor if we are to win this battle. Besides, Ketty is embarking on conducting research to increase and widen scientific evidence around cervical cancer in her community and beyond.
