Lesotho

Mabatho is the manager of operations for Sepheo, an NGO in Lesotho that integrates children from the streets into families and provides bridging education to those that would never otherwise complete school. Her role is to oversee all programs provided by the organization, acting as a mentor for other team members, and ensuring all children and families in our programs receive services that genuinely help them transform their lives. In 2013, she began tracing families for street children and reintegrating them back into homes. Since then, with the team she leads at Sepheo, they have been responsible for dramatically reducing the population of children living on the streets. More than 95% of former street children remain in their homes 3 years after reintegration.

A set of small votive candles are arranged in the shape of a heart near the person’s foot. Six heart-shaped red balloons float above the vigil.
