Join a conversation about censorship, public trust, and the role libraries and schools play in keeping ideas within reach. The panel will trace the history of censorship and examine its impact on literacy and trust in public institutions. Together, we’ll explore how access to varied perspectives and open inquiry can help strengthen trust across our communities. You’ll also leave with practical ways to support access to books and ideas—and a new lens on the questions of trust that will take center stage at the Obama Foundation’s 2026 Democracy Forum.

Follow the signs toward Campus/Plaza. Exit the parking garage and follow the walking path toward the Plaza. Continue through the breezeway between the Chicago Public Library and Forum, and turn right once you reach the Plaza. Follow signs into the Forum’s main entrance and make a slight left to reach the Auditorium.
