Team Leader, Evidence And Methods Lab
Leveraging data and civic technology to advance justice, governance, and transparency in Uganda
Michael Richard Katagaya is the co-founder and team leader at Evidence and Methods Lab, a civic tech organization that leverages data and technology to support civic education and promote participatory governance across Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa. Michael and his team simplify and repackage complex information about government services, public spending, and policy research and disseminate it to the public in more accessible formats, bridging the gap between government and its constituents. Through strategic partnerships and creative civic engagement programs, the lab empowers communities to use evidence for advocacy and policy influence, allowing them to make informed decisions about the policies that impact them most. Through the Scholars program, Michael aims to expand their digital citizen feedback mechanism and implement similar interventions, fostering transparency and inclusive governance across Uganda and the region.
