MBK Washtenaw County accepted the MBK Community Challenge to improve the lives of boys and young men of color in 2015. MBK Washtenaw County is a county-wide collective empowerment collaborative that seeks to change narratives, practices, and policies using tools like multi-institutional partnerships, empowerment programming, mentorship, and community-based advocacy. Their goal is for boys and young men of color to thrive, have full access to and support for educational and economic opportunities, receive support and care from an intergenerational community of men of color, and be positively acknowledged by the community. MBK Washtenaw County is focused on two MBK milestones: (3), (5).
