Spencer Torbett is the general counsel for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health, where he builds community relationships and resources to improve the health outcomes of Native people through increased access to healthcare on his tribal reservation. Spencer works at the intersection of healthcare and law. He served as the chief legal counsel in the tribal purchase and opening of two new tribal hospitals, including the first tribal inpatient addiction treatment hospital, and two health clinics. He is also committed to advancing tribal data sovereignty by shaping policies that protect community ownership of health data.
