Sherry Hakimi is the co-founder and chief executive officer at Pirth.org, a global nonprofit that provides people a digital platform and resources to advance online safety solutions. With over 50,000 people accessing its resources and a reach to over 1,000 direct users, Pirth.org operates in 243 languages, serves users across six continents, and supports journalists, activists, and women and children facing online threats and harm. Sherry led Pirth.org's trauma-informed design, which has set a new standard in her industry and has been adopted by organizations like Freedom House. Sherry is also the former executive director of genEquality, a social enterprise she founded to leverage creative experimentation and behavioral science for gender equality. With over a decade of experience, Sherry is driven by her personal experience with online violence and works towards a safer online world where everyone feels empowered to participate in public discussion.
