Rosemary Ostfeld is the founder and chief executive officer of Healthy PlanEat, a social venture that works to increase access to healthy and environmentally sustainable food. She is also an assistant professor of the practice in environmental studies at Wesleyan University. Through Healthy PlanEat online farmers market, Rosemary bridges the urban and rural divide, enabling over 30 small-scale rural farmers to sell their food directly to individuals and public schools across Connecticut. Through her online farmers market, she’s generated meaningful revenue, bringing tangible economic benefits to rural farmers and providing local communities greater access to healthy and environmentally sustainable food.
