Murat M. Akaydin is the board chair at Generation Vote Education Fund and the former co-secretary at Manhattan Community Board 7, where he drove community engagement to boost civic participation among underrepresented groups like young people, veterans, and disenfranchised individuals. Murat co-developed Generation Vote Education Fund’s Electoral Justice Summit, convening over 100 representatives from 30 youth-led organizations, which resulted in the establishment of the Electoral Justice Alliance, a coalition advancing equitable voting access and education. On the community board, he spearheaded its Member Feedback initiative, enhancing transparency and engagement for over 200,000 Manhattan residents, and is committed to ensuring all voices are heard and valued in the democratic process.
