Monte Pollard is the executive director at Changing Perceptions, a nonprofit that provides reentry services such as job readiness training, peer mentorship, emergency financial assistance, and mental health services to more than 300 formerly incarcerated individuals annually in Washington, D.C. Under Monte's leadership, Changing Perceptions has achieved a 90% anti-recidivism rate and secured stable housing for over 70 participants and a 317% budget increase to $750,000 in 2024. Driven by his personal experience, Monte aspires to create a national model for reentry services through scalable programs that dismantle systemic barriers and foster equitable opportunities for justice-impacted individuals.
