Creator and Joaquin Oliver Artistic Producer, ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence

Chicago, Illinois

Michael Cotey is the creator and Joaquin Oliver artistic producer at ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence, a nonprofit arts service organization that empowers teens to confront gun violence through theater that sparks conversations and inspires action in communities across the country. He has engaged nearly 3,000 artists, secured renowned playwrights to mentor teen writers, and reached more than 14,000 audience members. These events raised thousands of dollars for local gun violence prevention organizations and fostered partnerships, amplifying awareness and action in the community. Michael's long-term vision is to foster a culture where storytelling, through theater and live performance, empowers young people to discover their voices, be heard, and take action.
