James “J.D.” Scholten is a state representative in Iowa, where he has led policies for resilient regional food systems, fair wages, and inclusive rural economic growth. Through over 100 grassroots town halls across 39 rural counties, J.D. elevated the voices of farmers and workers in his bipartisan policy initiatives to address food security, increase investments in local agriculture and infrastructures, and strengthen policies to protect farmland and lower prescription drug costs. J.D. is a professional baseball player with the Sioux City Explorers and recently recorded a win as the oldest person in league history.
