Catie Cuan is a postdoctoral scientist in computer science at Stanford University. As an engineer, researcher, and artist, she has pioneered the field of choreorobotics, which unites robotics and dance to build helpful, approachable, and human-centered robots for individuals to use in everyday life. Catie has worked with dozens of different robots showcased at institutions such as the Smithsonian, the Exploratorium, and Stanford Live. She led the first multi-robot machine learning project at Google. She is also the founder of Zenie, a journaling app that leverages AI-powered conversations and reflections to help users build and sustain meaningful mindfulness routines. Catie's work reshapes public perception of technology and hopes to make robots and AI tools more accessible, welcoming, and beneficial.
