Smita Rajmohan
2024-2025 Obama Foundation USA Leader
Senior Counsel for Artificial Intelligence Platform, Autodesk, Inc.
San Jose, California
Smita Rajmohan is senior counsel for the Artificial Intelligence Platform at Autodesk, where she works in AI governance and manages the responsible development and deployment of AI systems. She authored several AI policies for the engineering and business teams and spearheaded the establishment of a governance committee for generative AI. Smita also serves on the Technology and Scholars Advisors Committee for the California Initiative for Technology and Democracy, which is a bipartisan organization that seeks state-level solutions to combat the spread of election disinformation by proposing several bills before the California legislature that, if passed, will require social media companies to be proactive in tackling deep fakes while respecting the First Amendment and platform laws. Smita’s concern for how AI could potentially disrupt elections is one of the many reasons she works hard to ensure that AI is ethical and lawful.
