Olajuwon White
2024-2025 Obama Foundation USA Leader
Director of Levy County Veteran Services, County Board of County Commissioners
Gainesville, Florida
Olajuwon White is the director of Levy County veteran services at the County Board of County Commissioners office, where he bridges the gap between veterans in rural areas and the Department of Veteran Affairs to ensure they receive their earned benefits related to service-connected compensation, education, survivors benefits, and health care. Olajuwon effectively led a public education campaign addressing the lack of understanding among veterans about their eligibility for VA benefits. This work resulted in an increase in the number of Levy County rural veterans and their families initiating their first claim for earned VA benefits.
