Lylianna Allala is the first ever climate justice director at the City of Seattle’s Office of Sustainability and Environment. She collaborates across the public sector, private sector, academia, and nonprofits to implement policies and programs that advance climate and environmental justice. She was previously responsible for environmental policy and outreach coordination for Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, in addition to collaborating with a variety of other social change leaders. She is currently working on a citywide strategy to advance Seattle’s Green New Deal that focuses on equitable climate pollution reduction, growing an inclusive green economy, and investment in climate adaptation measures in overburdened communities.
