José Emmanuel Alfaro is the executive director for the Community Justice Action Fund and advocates for communities that are disproportionately impacted by gun violence. Prior to his current role, Jose served as the Director of Latinx Leadership and Engagement at Everytown for Gun Safety. He has advocated on behalf of Latinx communities and for increased access to reproductive justice. His career began in Baltimore as a community educator, and he worked in various roles focused on underrepresented youth and gang members. He traveled for a year on a listening tour across 11 cities and interviewed 154 Latines to understand the experience of gun violence in Latinx communities and strengthen Everytown’s Latinx engagement strategy.
