Rhea Carter is a Grant Writing and Fundraising Specialist at Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, an organization that provides legal assistance to vulnerable populations in 33 counties of Kentucky. Rhea recently completed a two-year Americorps fellowship at Partners for Rural Impact serving residents of Kentucky’s Promise Zone in digital equity, postsecondary access, and youth development. Since 2022, Rhea has assisted in securing $1.3 million for organizations in Eastern Kentucky. She also co-founded the Eastern Kentucky Leadership Summit and the Appalachian Lens Program, both of which provide educational opportunities for students from the area. Rhea is a systems-level thinker passionate about serving others in community, particularly in her home region of Appalachia.
