Michaela Krskova is a board member of the European Innovation Council, an organization that directs public funding towards high-quality innovation projects with significant potential to improve lives. Formerly, she served as the first Chief Innovation Officer of the Slovak Government. Michaela is dedicated to aligning public and private funding with the public interest and advocating for investment in groundbreaking innovation that addresses sustainability and improves health outcomes. During her tenure as Chief Innovation Officer, she established a new government unit responsible for allocating substantial funding to science and innovation projects and developed Slovakia’s new innovation strategy. Her team successfully reformed public policies, leading to a commitment from the government to significantly increase public R&D spending and revise grant funding processes to enhance transparency while reducing the potential for bias and conflicts of interest.
