Nashin Mahtani
2025-2026 Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader

Director, Yayasan Peta Bencana (Disaster Map Foundation)
Indonesia
Nashin Mahtani is the director of Yayasan Peta Bencana (Disaster Map Foundation), which develops one of the world’s largest open-source platforms for climate adaptation, serving over 350 million people. She addresses the climate crisis by building digital infrastructure that enables community-led adaptation and by leading outreach strategies that unite hundreds of local organizations in collective action. Under her leadership, the organization has built a network of 1,330 youth climate ambassadors representing all of the provinces of Indonesia and the Philippines. Guided by the principles of gotong-royong (mutual aid) and community-based care, Nashin works to decentralize emergency response, democratize decision-making tools, and integrate ancestral knowledge into disaster resilience efforts.
