Kenneth Gofigan Kuper is an associate professor of political science at the University of Guam’s Micronesian Area Research Center, which works to ensure that research and knowledge from Micronesia benefits Micronesian communities. Kenneth, a CHamoru native of Guam, researches and teaches geopolitics, security, and international relations, focusing particularly on Guam and Micronesia. Beyond his classroom instruction, Kenneth directs the Pacific Center for Island Security, a think tank offering independent foreign policy analysis for the Asia-Pacific. He emphasizes Guam's critical role in Asia-Pacific security, asserting that its position at the forefront of potential conflict also places it at the forefront of relevant knowledge, research, and solutions.
