Hazwan Razak is the chief executive officer of BioVerde Tech, a newly set up government-backed biotech venture turning rainforest biodiversity and indigenous knowledge into sustainable economic opportunities for the people of Sarawak. Using biotechnology, he works with rural communities to create income, protect heritage, and grow a bioeconomy that delivers prosperity with purpose. In a prior role, he led the development of the local digital and tech ecosystem for underserved and rural communities. His previous initiatives have reduced digital inequity for over 60,000 people, including running 40 STEM programs in more than 500 schools for 25,000 students and helping 20,000 small businesses grow their revenue through e-commerce. With experience in international development, Hazwan is committed to co-creating community-driven solutions that advance digital inclusion and opportunity.
