Oral Health Manager, Maluk Timor Management Lead, Integrated Suite Development Program DISTaNCE Project

Timor-Leste

Flaviana da Silva is the oral health manager and management lead at Maluk Timor, an organization focusing on improving primary care in Timor-Leste by empowering local healthcare professionals. Flaviana leads comprehensive oral healthcare programs for underserved communities in Timor-Leste, particularly ones in rural areas. She has strengthened clinical systems, built strategic partnerships to reach new communities, and trained a growing network of local healthcare professionals through her oral health program. Now, she is designing a new initiative to build leadership and management capacity among healthcare leaders across the country. Supported early on by the Ministry of Health, her DISTaNCE Project intends to strengthen Timor-Leste’s healthcare system through adaptive training initiatives, ultimately enhancing healthcare practices in the young nation, especially for communities further from the capital. Flaviana is inspired by the resilience of frontline workers delivering care despite limited resources.
