Malaysia

Amira Aisya Binti Abd Aziz is the co-founder and acting president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), a youth-led party founded in 2020 that champions human rights, rule of law, climate action, and transparent governance. Through her leadership with MUDA, she has mobilized over 50,000 young people to be civically engaged. Amira has been a member of the Puteri Wangsa State Legislature since 2022, where she established Johor’s first Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Committee, contributing ten key recommendations adopted into the 2024 Johor Budget. Inspired by the resilience of those around her, Amira remains committed to fighting corruption and advancing climate justice—work that began during her time as a student activist in the wake of the scandal involving the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
