Jeff Xu is the founder and CEO of Lead Medical, a company that uses digital technology to enhance access to health care, with an emphasis on complex chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease. As a practicing clinician in Chinese hospitals, Jeff noticed problems in the health care sector that adversely impacted patients. To address these issues, he developed a centralized database with digital tools that were desperately needed—but did not exist—in the Chinese health care industry at the time. Now in eight regions and more than 90 of China's top public hospitals, the technology has helped eliminate redundancies in clinical operations, relieving pressure on doctors and lowering expenses and wait times for patients. Jeff believes that frontline health care professionals should not have to prioritize administrative work over delivering care.
